Intel “Ivy Bridge” delayed till June

o_0

Any reason perhaps as to why? All I see is the CEO was playing eeny-meeny-miny-moe and pointed his finger at the calendar.

Intel decided to help out it's channel partners by delaying ivy bridge. The partners are sitting on a large stockpile of sandy bridge processors due to the hard drive shortage.

The one benefit is that there will be a large stockpile of ivy bridge processors when they release them to the market.

You do have a point there. I remember how hard it was to get hold of the current chips when they came out.

My understanding is that not all versions will be delayed and that this will affect lower spec hardware only.

Thinking if there was competition there wouldn't be a delay. No matter the stock.

Damn. Was looking forward to a laptop with double the battery life. At least my 2009 Lappie is still going strong.

I AMD can release Trinity before Intel gets Ivy off the ground I have a feeling Intel will lose a ton of market share in the laptop market.

Unless Trinity is a completely new design from scratch I doubt it will make a difference. If it's based on the same Bulldozer architecture then AMD is still fooked.

With IVy bridge coming around the corner, it makes my Sandy Bridge processor look cheap :( Intel always upgrading their **** quickly
