Hi all

Does this seem to be a fair price?

Thanks in advance

What car is it for?

From a dealer or independent garage?

2004 golf mk1?

No such animal ;)

Also, even R2k to replace the clutch cable on a citigolf sounds too much...?

If its the clutch cable only and it is a golf mk1 then you can buy the cable and do it yourself for like 90 bucks.

but its a woman and i dont have time to go figure all that out lol ....referred her to a mechanic but need like a price to work with

Sounds like R1000 labour...

Dunno hey. I am sure a type-R's pads are a lot more expensive than a jazz's pads.
Still sounds much though. DIY is the way to go.

R1750 for front brake pads sounds high imo, but suppose through a dealer.

R2k for a clutch cable is rape

I thought the break discs were around that price ( or even less ) for a pair. As far as I know the pads are much cheaper.

I paid just over 2k to replace front and rear brakes on a 2008 Accord. I replaced them at Honda West Rand.

+- R100 for the cable. Then get a backyard mechanic to fit it for you if you can't do it yourself.

It is about R1300 for installation of fronts on a i20. No generics available... Are they skimming too?

Just for comparison...

VW quoted me R2100 to change the rear brakes on my car.
I got the pads for R380 from Goldwagen, spent R100 on tools and did it myself.
