Sanral addresses e-toll account issue

Sanral speaks out regarding misleasing statements being propagated by some political and civil organisation leaders trying to gather support for their grievances around e-tolling.

So they are still able to deduct X amount from your credit card directly without having to provide any proof of usage?

As an example:

I'm registered and use the N1 from Pretoria to Johannesburg one or twice a year. They can still debit the R 500 odd cap off my account anytime they please. Meaning I need to keep monitoring it every month. And if a mistale has been made on their part it will take me 3 years to get the money back...

Sorry SANRAL, you fail.

Bleh.

What does he mean registration is still open? Is there a closing date where no one else may register anymore even if they wanted to? Is that a threat? I do not respond well to threats! :-)

Sorry SANRAL, you fail.

Send me a bill, prove that it is justified and that I have taken receipt of it.

Then I will pay.

I have a very funny feeling about these registered folk. I can see SANRAL having the collection capablities of the Metro. Now the people who refuse to pay will just end up not paying and those registered will foot the bill. This will continue for a few years and then Government will say. "Tolls are scrapped" those who paid... tough luck. Those who didn't pay will have the debt written off.

Glad I'm not registered.

Exactly.

But with you registering and putting your CC as way of payment they just deduct it from your CC. They will send you a bill ofc, but what if there is a problem and they debitted you in error? You will have endless issues getting it from SANRAL. That I think is the concern people are having.

Between them and the useless banks we have in SA it will turn into a circus if you are wrongly charged and want to get your money back....

Thanks for clarifying that SANRAL! :)

Now how about taking your e-tags, your gantries, your fake police force, your corrupt board members, your farking stupid plans and shoving them all in the tiny little hole of yours? Cheers. ;)

This form of managing automated payments is already widely in use by other organisations.

But those organizations are largely honest, not the lying corrupt extention of government that you are Sanral.

Go get fukked SANRAL

The R550 discount they keep throwing around is only for tagged losers also

Only when they provide me with an account will I respond... maybe.

This one of the probabilities which scares me. With so many cloned vehicles freely travelling around Gauteng, there is a real chance that we could end up paying a small fortune for some miscreant with a cloned number plate  and then I must prove it wasn't me. Why must I prove it? Swines!

Goodness. You're in a good mood today. I would have expected rhetoric far more foul :p

Also, unrestricted access to my financial affairs does go down well with me.

Just too many aspects of e-tolling which grate me.

Sanral said tolling was scheduled to commence on April 30, and registration was still open for road users who chose to be e-toll complaint.

This statement creates the impression that you must register to be complaint, which is incorrect. It seems they are trying to mislead the public.

Imagine you are one of the unlucky 10% who has a duplicate number plate in the GFIP area and you have an e-tag.....
phew, you are going to have loads of **** to get the money the other guy, obviously without an e-tag, has spent, back from Sanral.

So, my view has not and will not change.
NO!
Sorry...
SCREW YOU!!!
You can shove my e-tag up your nought

Does this mean people who are complaining?

I will pay once I receive a registered letter stating that I used a road at time X on date Y, and I can view the photo on this URL.

There is no way I will be registering and there is no way I will be going to your offices within 7 days after using the not-Freeway.

I already pay for road maintenance on my salary, and on the fuel that I put in every month.

My exact sentiment.

I will pay when a court judge tells me to do so, face to face.....
