Vodacom Desire S on special but on backorder??

Vodacom's got quite a nice deal this month on the Desire S, except no one has stock or know when they will have stock again, phoned about six stores in CT area.
One salesman told me the phone is on backorder with HTC.

Now I know most people won't care about the Desire this month, but in general how do you put a phone in your special's booklet, if you don't have stock? :confused: Is this standard practice?

I got mine at tygervalley mall in bellville, they got stock in on sunday so hopefully there is still some left.
 
Not sure if it's the same with Vodacom but when I got the phone I had initially called many mtn stores (franchises) which were all out of stock. Ended up getting mine from the MTN SP store ( got mine from Canal Walk) which apparently dont have contact numbers and are walk in stores.

Yep the big MTN stores dont have contact numbers same story at with the one in Nortgate mall, the directory just gives the normal MTN sp number

I actually phoned them yesterday after I posted and they told me they've got one and will keep it for me. Drove through
from town after work just to find they had given it to someone else. Bastards.

YAY just hope the store actualy ordered the phone or when i get home on thursday i will have an angry bird waitng for me

I did order last week when specials booklet came out, so hopefully they'll give me a call when they get in.

Phone them and make sure they ordered the phone. If the phone is in stock it only takes 1 - 2 days max to arrive at the store. Not sure about the ordering policy of the store you use...but for our stores we order twice a week. So if I placed a order on Monday I would have received the phone either yesterday if it was released from Warehouse before 11 o clock cut off or today latest.

some times i wonder what goes on at these stores :wtf: wife and i phone the same store minutes apart, she gets told no there isnt stock I get told yes they have stock.
i guess ill have to waste my time tonight, to see who is telling the truth

BTW wheres your store?
