Johannesburg - A shocking video has emerged in which seven boys gang rape a 17-year-old girl in Soweto.

Eyewitness News reported that the boys, who were between 14 and 20, were arrested on Tuesday.

The video was made on a cellphone and is about 10 minutes long.

The girl could clearly be heard to be crying and pleading with her attackers, who repeatedly rape her.

The boys apparently offered her R2 to keep quiet.

The video showed several acts of penetration as well as the boys joking around and encouraging each other while talking about whether the victim was crying or not.

A police spokesperson said the girl had gone missing three weeks ago, and is still missing. She was apparently left with an elderly taxi driver in Dobsonville.

It was believed that she had been kidnapped by the boys and kept as a sex slave.

Makes you wonder what kind of culture produces savages like this, and don't come with the poverty card.

I'm not agreeing with Apache, but there are lots of poor people and they don't gang rape mentally retarded people.

Just look at India there are very poor people and the gap between rich and poor is huge, but they don't have nearly as much violence as South Africa.

I'm hesitant to get into this discussion, but we should pity them. We're talking about people who were once innocent and full of potential who are now very likely lost to us as decent human beings. What happened to them to turn them into such monsters?

People will say"violence on TV", bad role models at home, basic disrespect for woman, and many other reasons.

Well knowing Apache, it is easy to see why he is unable to start a thread without throwing in the usual innuendos of race, religion or conservatism.
 
Thsi si happening so often lately, all over SA, in schools and different social backgrounds.
The thing is the girls tend to change the story after the video is viewed...

Thats what ive heard.
