I hope somebody here can help me.

I bought a new router and the things keeps disconnect. See report below. My ISP and telkom say the line is stable and the problem has to be with the modem. Also, my other modem runs fine.

It is the D-link DSL2750U

I phoned them but up to now they have not been able to figure it out. They just updated the firmware which did not help.

Any help from some genius out there would be much appreciated!

That intrusion log was pointless.

You can start off by posting your ADSL statistics (line speeds [not the attainable rates], line attenuation & SNR margins) here, as well as in what city/suburb you're staying.

Lastly, if the other modems didn't give any problems, then why did you change to another modem?!

Oh.. sorry.

How do I get those?

Log in on your ADSL modem's web interface, which is typically at http://192.168.1.1/
Usually the username/password is like admin/admin or admin/password or perhaps even admin & no password.

I can't recall exactly where the ADSL stats/diagnostics are, but it is usually one of the first few menu items on the left (as a sub item). I'm pretty sure you'll also find this in the user manual.

I bough this modem because my other one's wireless reach was not big enough unbfortunately.

I found this:

ADSL

Mode: ADSL_G.dmt
Type: ATM
Status: Up

Downstream Upstream
Line Coding(Trellis): On On
SNR Margin (dB): 365 130
Attenuation (dB): 200 105

HEC Errors: 0 0
OCD Errors: 0 0
LCD Errors: 0 0

Your ADSL stats are perfect. I can't see anything from the statistics that could indicate ADSL line or modem issues.

What I do see is that you're not using a single LAN connection. I would suggest that you use LAN cables if you're experiencing issues with the Wireless. This way you can rule out whether it is Wireless issues or an ADSL modem/router problem.

So if it works with the LAN cable without any issues, then you should either RMA it or get a different ADSL modem + router.

I really thought that the DSL-2750U was a great modem + router + WiFi AP given its price.

I replaced it with my older modem with the crappy wifi signal last night and no disconnects...

Postmanpot sorted me out with a new unit. Tested it this weekend and all seems 100% fine.

Thanx dude!
