Romney Jeered at NAACP Conference Over Obamacare [VIDEO]

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney received a mostly warm welcome during a speech given Wednesday to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

However, he received boos from many in the crowd after he promised to repeal the Affordable Care Act — also known as “Obamacare.”

Romney was discussing his belief in the need to reduce government spending and increase hiring when the jeers came.

“I’m going to eliminate every non-essential, expensive program I can find, that includes Obamacare,” said Romney before being interrupted by the crowd.

After the interruption subsided, Romney cited a recent study that suggests many business owners are less likely to hire people because of the Affordable Care Act.

Politicians and commentators on both sides of the aisle took to Twitter to spin Romney’s apperance.

When the former Governor’s speech concluded more than 10 minutes later, he received applause from the crowd.

Romney also explained that he wanted to speak at the NAACP conference because he hopes “to represent all Americans, of every race, creed or sexual orientation, from the poorest to the richest and everyone in between.”

African-Americans overwhelmingly voted for President Obama in 2008.

Health care reform is the signature achievement of the Obama administration, making it a prime target for Republican ire. The Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act late last month brought the law to the forefront of political discourse.

However he was very brave to speak to the NAACP about trying to repeal "obamacare", I mean that's trying to take a bone away from a rapid stray dog.

No need for this racemongering. Apply the principle of charity. "Rabid (not rapid) stray dogs" can just mean hippies high on drugs that want a few hand outs so that they don't have to do some hard labour. Or maybe it just refers to the fiscally irresponsible people with no values or virtues that allow them to be hard working, responsible and constructive citizens i.e. fiscal parasites.

The only people that are racist are those southerners when they boo Obama right? .I don't think the people at NAACP were racist for booing at Romney, but you may want to argue like that in the spirit of racemongering and consistency :erm:.

No Techne, stalkers obsess about other forumites to the extent of, oh, say, putting their public information on the internet without their permission...

The point is, Apache has got a bit of a thing with racial issues, as well as a habit of wide-eyed denial when anyone dares suggest a racial undertone to any of his posts or threads, which are not as overt as they could be.

That you presume to lecture the rest of us on etiquette, well, given your history, you know what we think of that I suspect...
