So what's your favourite utensil/s in the kitchen?

Mine are my knives, I can't function without decent razor sharp knives and I have a number of Global's as well as a set of Sakura's

Every time I go into Adam's or @Home I'm drawn to the Zwilling and Henckels and Wusthofs like a magnet (and the missus gives me the hairy eyeball) :o

A proper knife.

Something like this:

Nothing more frustrating than trying to cut with a blunt knife.

Dishwasher.

The first one I had in the 1960's was a National (Japanese). It washed dishes ok but sounded like a jet on take-off for 45 mins. In about 1998 I bought an AEG. Biggest lot of crap out, it stopped working several times during the first year. Being in the electronics servicing business, I had a look at the timer. There were copper poles crimped to a fibreglass circuit board and these worked loose in time. I soldered everything and it lasted to 2009. Now I have a Bosch, with no moving parts for the timer and sensors.

At the moment my must have item is an electric scale! Otherwise decent knifes which we don't really have!

wusthof knives. every family member puts in a bit of money and we get a knife every year as combined christmas/birthday present.

edit: being superstitious we give every participant 10c - it's extremely unlucky to accept a sharp object as a present - you have to pay for it ;)

Yea, my knives are it. I have a Zwilling and Henckels, a couple of Wusthofs a global and a Kyocera ceramic knife.

Tho my favourite right now is my Robert welch Santuko.

My non stick pizza pans are right up there.

On wish list, though, would be decent kitchen knives.

Decent knives. I ended up buying some for the last holiday place I stayed at - cannot handle blunt crappy knives.
