OK, its happened - SG S3 screen cracked when phone fell off lap getting out the car... I know!!!
Anybody here have any experience with Cell Clinic www.cellclinic.co.za. There costing is R1700 including collection and delivery - turnaround time approx 48 hours.
Any other options besides handing it into a Vodacom repair centre.

Samsung has got their own repair centres....check on their web site for a number to phone.

*So sad to hear about your phone....I would have cried without tears.

What was it doing on your lap? texting/phoning while driving? Dude, not cool!

Actually I 'sold' it to the grandson and he had it on his lap on the way to school - terrible really considering he still has his first cellphone a Ericsson V800 which is spotless. He looks after the stuff - this was just plainly an accident.. so he will be going without any pocket money for a while...!

For the sadistic lot here:

Ouch wow :O a friend of mine dropped his S2 on the asphalt by mistake. We all expected the worst. It had no cover on, just the original phone. Everything was still fine. Was quite amazing to see as it was dropped from about 1.5 metres.

Galaxy S3 is good as new - used www.cellclinic.co.za they arranged for a courier to fetch it on Monday at my work and it was returned this morning at 8.30 - excellent service and it looks as new. I can recommend them - also has a 1 year warrenty. They are a Samsung accredited repair centre.

Great will use them then, mine fell out of my pants pocket this morning, about 1m, and the screen only shows green now, oops!

Sorry, you are out of luck, it is a sealed unit, glass and screen, so my fix was R 1 800. Buddy wat work was R 2 000, different fixers.

Blah!!! my S3's screen cracked this morning too. Was so upset. I'm also trying to figure out if there is away around replacing both. R1800 is a ridiculous amount.

Is it just me or do the S3 screens seem to crack much easier than those of the S2?

I have been contemplating getting the S3, but after reading quite a few posts about the S3 screens cracking for "apparently no reason" I am hesitant.
My S2 has never been dropped, has a screen protector and stays in a belt pouch for most of the time, but there is always a first time.
My wife dropped hers, and apart from a small ding on the corner of the body of the phone, it is still fine. Lucky, but still...

saw some YouTube videos , actually there is a way to replace the glass only without replacing the screen.

Going to Samsung Repair shop today to find out if its possible. But the screen works perfectly.

Any other repair places around.? Broke my galaxy note 2's screen and they quoted R2.3k to fix it :/
