Hi, I just joined AH's uncapped offering this month and am a little disappointed so far. Once I downloaded less than 40GB I've started experiencing throttling of my line down to just under 2mb. I'm currently at +-55GB now and am still experiencing the same throttle, so I'm kind of glad it hasn't gotten worse but from what I'm reading on the forums I shouldn't be throttled yet? Since I've read people getting throttled at the same amount of data with a lower line speed and finding it strange? Here's a speed test of my current speed:
Thanks!

I am also seing throttling exactly the same as you.
but local latency seems ok and I never liked playing on servers 6000 km away.

here is my trace route anyway.

I'm getting only 1.6mbps on my 4mb uncapped account all of a sudden, and I've only downloaded +- 20GB. Not sure if it's throttling or just terrible service from AfriHost.

It seems that their excellent service levels have been majorly exaggerated. :/

Tonight Afrihost seem to have lost the plot again.
Their service centre personnel also can't give a straight answer.
I phoned them twice tonight, complained about high latency and low download speeds, and with each call I got a different answer as to what could be wrong on my side. Mind you, there is nothing wrong with their network, according to them.

Two speedtests tonight.
The first was from Cell C, tethering through my phone.

Second is done via Afrihost, on a 2Mbps line.

My personal opinion is that Afrihost are throttling the cr@p out of their uncapped clients.
The move to MTN / MWEB has definitely not been to the benefit of their customers.
At least when they were still with IS we knew what we were getting. Now everyone is being treated like mushrooms.
They keep us in the dark and feed us $hit.

Why is it that mweb are the only ones that know throttling chases people away?

If things do not improve within the next week, I'm out. Does anyone know how the cancellation procedure works? Can I cancel at the end of the month and not pay for December? Did the payment via credit card...

Typical AfriHost trying to shove the problem back to the customer all their first line support says is "everything is resolved their are no issues must be your pc etc"

Same here. Line syncing at 6mb, everything running at 1mb speeds. My SABNZB is still busy with Sunday night's downloads.

@OP... this is why MWEB pwns Afrihost on Uncapped. I had Afrihost uncapped when it first started, then after like a month or so they introduced those "Fair User Practice" rules.... Thats when I switched to MWEB. Afrihost Throttles, it gets more and more as your gigs increase... MWEB shapes...

So next time you sign u with an ISP, check the small print, Afrihost has had those policies on two years now...

I have an Openweb account and they dont throttle. It works perfectly day and night

Had Mweb a while back, but cancelled them due to their incompetent call centre

also had the same on my 2mb line was only get 1mb speeds last night .... so def throttling and the month barely even started yet .... not kewl !!!
Afriman ... please advise what is going on as most of us took the account based on certain expectations in regards to throttling ... if that has changed, can you please let us know so we can make an informed decision to jump ship :)
