So I promised myself not to upgrade on Vodacon. Did the rituals and convinced myself.
So temptation got the better of me and I was first in the queue for the Samsung S3 LTE. Waited three freaking hours for Vodacon lady to actually load the deal onto the system so I can get my contract. Got the phone and received the micro sim. Counted theseconds for the sim swop.
Anyways, it happens, my SII deregisters on the Vodacon network. I switch on my SIII LTE. Immediately, I get “NOT REGISTED ON NETWORK”. Convinced myself to wait a few hours. You know these complicated things take time.
So, on Friday, switched my phone on again, got a new error, “NO NETWORK FOUND”. Could not receive calls or make calls. Anger got the better of me.
Whole weekend it went in and out of signal with these errors.
So today I take my phone back to Vodaworld and the lady says I don’t need to book it in, stamped my receipt and said the tech department is full of returns of the Samsung SIII LTE. Apparently the phones have no problem, the freaking tech did not test the SIII on the VODACON Network and it does not speak the same language.
How messed up is that. THEY WANTED TO BE THE FIRST LTE NETWORK but a pathetic one at least.
I don’t know y I even gave them a chance. VODACON, what a failure.
