Mr Blu, bless his soul, decided to treat me with an island holiday.

Do all the islands (Madagascar/Mauritius/Seychelles/etc) require malaria medication? My worry is for baby Blu who cannot take the medication.

I'm sure this thread is more to brag than to get info which is readily available online. :p

Why google when you can get answers from legitimate people who went there and some guys attempting to derail the thread?

What place is he eyeing?

But it does not answer my malaria Q :)

from my quick google search (the lengths I go to to help you, blu) Mauritius is malaria free but prophylaxis is recommended for the rural areas (which I doubt you'll be visiting).

You do get a syrup for babies and small children which protects him/her from malaria. Sorry I can't answer you on the initial question.

Seychelles and Mauritius is Malaria free.Madagascar still has malaria.

Been to Seychelles and Mauritius. My wife has been to Madagascar.

You don't get malaria in Mauritius to my knowledge. Hell I even drank the tap water by accident at times :D

My friend is madagascan and that place sounds like a shyt hole but obviously the hotels would be nice :D ooo have you thought about reunion blu?

The preventative medicine is crap in any case and won't necessarily prevent you from catching it. It will however mask the symptoms if you do catch it. Just take precautions...
