Well I do not know how its viewed to punt your own work here esp with all the negative press Windows 8 in here but here goes:

Say Hello to my 1st Windows 8 Modern UI creation : http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-US/app/mobi-jobcard/21023d40-e5ab-4c79-948f-78ffed78683c

Targeting small businesses like plumbers, electricians and even computer support companies. Works best for people that send people out with tablets (Phone app coming soon)

So what do you people think about it?

Pretty nice app from the look of it, will try it properly when I get home. How long did it take you to do something like this

Surprisingly not as long as you would think. Also most of it was learning the code, plus the problem that there is not a lot of documentation out. I am sure next one would take me about 3 months tops. Planing to upgrade and add loads of functionality, even other applications that will compliment this one.

$9.99?? DAM

I am not looking for huge client mass that bitch about crap not working as they expected, prefer small group with valid complaints, also not collecting any data to sell to other people like most cheap apps do. Still need to feed myself plus you have to remember, this new app store made people buy apps, and expect updates/support for life.

So yes R70 and no I do not think that is expensive, go see how much Desktop based apps cost that offer the same functionality.

that is true. Well it does look good :)

Probably this

Oops yeah missed that sorry.

Both Programing language and IDE's, I would vote iOS as the worse in almost all aspects funny enough, lemme put it like this:

IDE + Code Workload (1st is the best)
Windows 8 > Android > iOS

Coding ease (Prev knowledge/experience might influence this)
Windows 8 > Android > iOS

App to market (1st is best)
Android > Windows 8 > iOS

Windows 8 was a breeze to market, countering my fears from what I have seen online but still needed approval.

I guess it's background. Developing for iOS and Android can't be that bad if 11 year olds can create apps and have it on the market place now can it?

I know 9 year old doing particle physics, age got nothing to do about ease of actual work, beside having an app on market also says nothing, as any twist with some html5 code can make a 2 page Phonegap app that doesn't do any real problem solving and publish it.

But yeah it might be my background that makes me think Windows Visual Studio is better than Xcode or Eclipse. I am just reflecting what I found when trying to do some actual code in the 3, and yes your view might differ sure I have no problem with that either.

I'm not contesting it. Was just wondering what you based it off. It's easier in Windows since the last 7 years or so they've REALLY made some effort in convergence across any platform they have especially with developers.

My code can now run on a web server, my phone, a tablet, my PC or my xbox... :)

I actually prefer iOS. Found it a lot easier. Downloaded visual c 2010 and it was missing a dll, which upon much googling I could get it from some other windows download which in turn gave me grief, so I decided f### it. iOS and android it is :) anyway always preferred the nix environments :)
