Hey all

Anyone else experiencing problems?

-Can't connect to MWEB Speedtest test
-Can't connect to iPhone update server
-Slow website loading etc.

Been bad for some time now. :(

Been having issues since start of December.

Can add these to Postman's list
-Steam not connecting, and when connected it's REALLY slow
-Unplayable lag in online games

Have a call open with them for about a month now, call has been escalated by the local techie, but can't get someone on the phone to talk to about it, so at this stage i'm jumping between my WA and Plugg pre-paid accounts, on which i have none of these issues.

I can connect to MWebs speedtest but it won't run:

Not a problem in my life - guess my IPCop is doing its job :)

Been noticing for a couple of months.
My wife uses the Telkom account and often complains that nothing will open.

Luckily its not my only ISP.

I'm on 4mb TelkomInternet as well
- Can't run a local speedtest.net (international has download of 0.23mbps)
- Can't open Google Play store (via the website)
- General browsing is extremely slow
- PSN is just useless
This started in Feb when they made all the changes to the hard capped accounts to be "soft capped"

Same here in CPT on the 5th and it has been erratic for some time.

Yesterday (5th) was tortoise slow until after midnight on both 8ta and Afrihost. 8ta connected through JHB with a ping >110 and Afrihost through MTN CPT with ping <60. Afrihost reached 6Mbs at times after midnight.

New IPC in CPT in 3 weeks (hopefully).

Well, unfortunately today it doesn't really help that much providing feedback from before 22h00 last night.

We are aware of some problems for p2p, some of which we aim to address this afternoon or evening.

We are currently seeing a bit of Google Play traffic, but Windows Update is taking 2.5* as much, iTunes Ap Store about 7.5* as much, and Youtube about 25 times as much, all video takes 50* as much as Google Play, and Web browsing is taking up about 60 times as much as Google Play.

So, the process at present in 'stabilisation' is really trying to find a balance between all these traffic types that makes everyone happy.

Sorry, I am confused as to what portion of your message above relates to Telkom Internet (aka, this thread). Could you clarify? On Telkom Internet, you should have 15-30ms to Cape Town from anywhere in the Western Cape, and 30-50ms from anywhere else in the country.

Torrent speeds on capped accounts (if they start) during business hours are still significantly slower than what I was used to prior to the February upgrades and from what I read in the uncapped threads regarding torrents things are even worse there.

@Ranger - can we expect torrent performance on capped to return to pre-Feb levels going forward?

Torrents on capped are better this morning but not at pre-Feb performance levels yet.

My TI mail is also being delayed by up to an hour - not as bad as Wednesday when it could be up to 12 hours. Sending from TI to Gmail is not affected thankfully.

I switched to Telkom uncapped from Mweb uncapped. Usenet downloads from Supernews is running at 10kb/s on my 2mbps line. Biggest mistake ever. I might cancel next week.
