BlackBerry 10 BIS will change in SA

Lets see what deals they come up with.

At the moment, iPhone users probably get the best deals for data bundle with their devices.

Hopefully it will improve the user experience without all these kiddies downloading all the time...
 
Pretty sure this is a good thing for the high-end target market of BB.

For the masses that use the sh*tty BB's like the Curve etc. this is probably going to be quite a knock. But for the high end BB's I think it's possibly going to work - the new BB10 OS looks good. But we will have to wait and see.

I don't think so as the article state only on BB10 software but I assume that it will eventually phase out BIS in the next few years as most people will be upgrading to the newest BB10 phones (If they will still be sticking to the Blackberry brand)

No, not yet but will be phased out within/after 2 years as the new devices become more main stream. Rim did mention that BIS will still work as norm on the older devices for the next 2 years, but nothing about what will happen after that time expired.
 
new deals will have to be very good, or BB10 really good to keep BB loyalty.
speaking for myself also... currently on BES... so not really concerned about the data charges, but the handset and OS will have to be something really special to keep me a BB user after renewal date in 4 months....

Service providers reserve the right to alter the terms of use. Remember reading it when MTN adopted their new policy.

Will cause a big backlash but seeing as it will be phased out I don't see much of a problem.

Do not forget to put (In 3rd wold countries)

In 1st world like US data is already included in their phone contracts and BB owners had to pay extra for BIS, so for them this is a win.
 
Remember these phones will be targeted at the iPhone and Galaxy audience (high end).

For the cheap getto the BB9 phones will still be plenty available, with RIM even confirming that they will still [strike]manufacture[/strike] support them.(citation needed)

BB9 does not exist.

Neither does BB8 for that matter.
 
I think if the carriers can come up with decent packages (like 8ta seems to be promising) and perhaps still say "unlimited BBM on BB10" or something (which, lets be honest, takes almost no network data), then people might still want to upgrade their blackberries to BB10.

All the carriers generally despise any 'uncapped' idea here.

But I do believe emails (without attachments) and BBM will walk away slightly unscathed.

There will still be unlimited BBM, and email... and possibly other messaging services. Its just the normal internet usage that will be excluded.
