SITA website publicly showing client data

Didn't know we had a "State Information Technology Agency". Do they look after the fax machines?

Can we ever expect anything government to function properly and correctly?

Yes, by searching Google for: "sita smc reports" I also get the cached pages. Seems Sita removed the actual pages.

This just goes to show the incompetency of Sita - not being able to adhere to the most basic principles of access control to online content. Sita staff has very limited IT knowledge. My personal opinion is that coding experience of the best Sita staff members are limited to Microsoft Frontpage - yet it appears they are still struggling to understand how Microsoft Access works and securing the content online.

As for basic PC maintenance, replacing power cords and RAM would be as far as it goes. Anything bigger than that will probably be outsourced to an external PC company.

Not at all. You only assume this because 'it's government, it must be bad'.

Not assuming at all.

I know Sita, dealth with them before, will never do so again.

Take a good look at the article, go pop into a few government offices and take a look at their systems. Google Sita in the news and you will see a few moronic it-related comments or remarks.

Bunch of idiots..

Oh, and yes, anything government is bad. They have proven themselves - nothing to go into discussion here. Just take a look at SA.
