After getting fedup with my current ISP (MWET), I decided to do a bit of reading and searching for an alternative ISP to use.

After about two weeks, it seems the best choice will be to stay with MWET, as all ISP's look cr@p. The negatives on any of the major players outweigh any positives by far......

Typical old RSA service industry............... So dmaned if I do, damned if I dont. Pretty damn sad, as I really wanted the internet service I am paying for.

Seems like you don't know how to research then.

Yup, I've pulled over 1TB in a single month with them once. Out of the norm for me but there was a particularly lengthy... Set of Linux distros I wanted in HD :D

Get an openweb gold account and you will never look back.

Was thinking of it, but there are just as many complaints about them. The trial account they sent me worked for 5 mins.

Good choice. Stick with MWEB. Best overall experience out of all the ISPs. OpenWeb is for hoarders. :D

I've been to two different ISPs and come back to MWeb. Believe me, the grass is patchy and full of holes on the other side.

The problems don't entirely lie with isp's. Telkom's lack of infrastructure development, dslam congestion, high ipc cost and local backhaul transmission are solely to blame for the position our internet is in. And last but not least naked adsl, hence the reason many isp's need to oversell to make a profit. Its tough business being an isp, unless llu or reduction in ipc cost becomes a reality I don't see things getting any better in the foreseeable future.

Doesn't make monetary sense @ 4mbps or higher. It's the same price as MWeb AND the line.

It does if you pull large amounts of data. With what I fairly regularly do these days, I would've been kicked off of MWeb ages ago.

It's MWeb, not MWET

With the issues i am having make sure you pay one company for both the line and the data. When there are issues, there is one person to blame, otherwise you end up with telkom and the ISP playing the blame game.

Except for the fact GOLD has given the lowest pings in Dota2 as well.

Care to provide some speedtests?
