BlackBerry wins in juicy ASA ruling

Very original. Pitty about the butthurt trademark owners who are complaining about something that isn't even remotely related to their industry.

Stupid ruling imo. Blackberry own absolutely none of the used material.

Pathetic objection. Pathetic ruling...

at this point and time they need any help that visits their way, but I guess the suit and tie guys think image

QuintonB,

March has 31 days. Today is not the 1st of April. But I do appreciate the humour! :D

it is a pity Blackberry doesn't have the same sense of humour as the insurance company which Nando's spoofed

+1, it's funny. RIM have no sense of humour, time to drop them.

imagine if this was america. thousands of people would have bought the juice thinking it was a cellphone, then after not picking up any signal and also spilling juice all over themselves trying to put the sim card in, they would return it to the shop.

must already happen a lot with apple juice i reckon.

Given the state BlackBerry is in, why did they choose to kick this gift horse in the mouth..?

Knowing the local BBRY guys I think if Liqui Fruit had approached them before the campaign, I am sure that BBRY would have done something interesting/entertaining with them. Liqui Fruit made it look like BBRY endorsed the product. I think Liqui Fruit was also cheap - seriously, offering thirty 9220 BB Curves - they can't be more than 2K?

I do think Liqui's conduct is poor - especially with the excuse of "... the incorrect spelling of the word “BlackBerry” as “Blackberry” was an honest mistake." - seriously? They copied the font and writing and then excuse the spelling as a mistake. Everything sounds pretty obvious to me and the ads are tacky.

I think if they pulled off a similar stunt with Liqui Fruit Apple, they would be in even deeper problems.

Exactly, Liquid Fruit were not very clever in this act, also poor defence.

the humor is weak in this one.......

Blackberry is correct to strike LF, BB should stay under the radar for as many years as possible. It only serves to remind me what gawd-awful phones they make.

Stupid CrapBerry!

I'd rather have Liqui-Fruit in my house than a crapberry.

Agreed.

Though BB could do with all the exposure it can get.

But for LF to offer and use a Trademark (the logo/font) without BB's permission is BS!

BlackBerry should have been thankful to have a well recognised local brand endorsing them, instead of suing them.

Stupid Canadians.

Did Ronnie Corbett? ever get in trouble from blackberry?
