You got to remember though that most people complain more and make more of a fuss than they would compliment about service. Also most complaints are caused my other factors (Telkom related) and is simply not the ISP's fault.

But I see what you are getting at.

This is true. Most people will rush to hellopeter to complain but very few will go there to compliment. However, look at openweb's page. It's 90% compliments. Maybe that really says something.. seeing as though i'm currently looking for a new ISP. Thanks OP for the comparison.

Out of all the ISPs I've tried, openweb are the only one that asked for positive comments on hellopeter.

oh come on, lol, OpenWeb are soliciting HelloPeter comments now? :p

Are you trying to suggest that Openweb tells all their customers to post positive messages for them on HelloPeter?

Everyone, please post positive comments about OW. PLEASE, or else I will shoot you

Been with Mweb, Cybersmart, and Afrihost - And by miles OW is the best. Cables recently were down and I still got full speeds with them with re-routed traffic. I am busy downloading during business hours at home and have 95% of my line speed with P2P. I have never seen any anything like it.

Huh? Really? Been with them for more than two years and they haven't asked me to post anything on HelloPeter yet, and I've been in contact with their support department over a wide range of matters over those two years.

i've had more problems with openweb in a month than with all the other isp's i've used since 2006 and i've used them all. maybe its just bad luck. or bad timing.

Well it has to be bad luck.

Even if you did have a great connection with MWeb/Axxess, fine, good for you, but then you're stuck with all the other *Guaranteed* problems (dodgy AUP/throtteling/no SSL/abuse letters/bad NNTP during business hours/etc)
If you get a good connection with OpenWeb however, you don't have anything else to worry about.

I guess you could say OpenWeb is like an Airline.
This mode of transport is a little more expensive, and for a very tiny minority planes unfortunately crash, but, for the most part, 99% of their users get where they're going fast and everything works with no problems. There is no speed limit.

Other ISPs are the taxi's, buses and cars.
Cost cheaper, but you are guaranteed to have other issues like getting a speed ticket if you go too fast, and during business hours you will be held up by traffic, for the most part. You have a speed limit.
Keep in mind that your taxi/bus/car also has an ability to crash, just like the airplane.

Legend:
*Crash: Connection not working at all.
*Speed Ticket: Flagged for downloading too much too fast
*Traffic: Not full speed during business hours.
*Speed Limit: AUP

Im with Axxess currently, so to revise your message above here.

During business there is no traffic, but on your way to work if you want to take detours at the p2p villages, you will get a lot of slow traffic there, but on the non p2p route to work traffic will be almost nowhere on the super fast highway. :D

Never been asked.

And yes, it is true people go on to complain on a "complaints" site more often than they do to compliment. So every positive comment on that site should be counted as something extra special!

It happens like that ... sometimes the most bling service just doesn't work for a person.

Having said that .... I am a really grumpy old sod - according to my suppliers - and I happy with OW.

I had a go with AH, and wasn't too impressed with the service, and will not even consider throttleweb er MWEB.
