Paul Wilson, Southern Gypsey Queen Drummer, Dead at 29

I saw Gary (iirc, band member) tweet something about Paul not being able to do the rest of the tour with them about a week ago.

I don't think I've ever heard any of their stuff or seen them Live.

Cape Town – Southern Gypsey Queen drummer, Paul Wilson, died of a heart attack on Wednesday afternoon at Molteno Hospital, in the Eastern Cape

Rolling Stone reported that Wilson, 29, had been suffering from a serious case of meningitis, but had been expected to recover.

Last week the band had cancelled a performance at Kaktus op die Vlaktes at the KKNK because he was ill.

Yes - meningitis, was the reason that he couldn't go on with the tour.

Wilson had been suffering from a serious case of meningitis, but had been expected to recover. Southern Gypsey Queen released this statement last week on social platforms: "We regret to inform you that Paul Wilson, drummer for Southern Gypsey Queen has fallen ill and sadly there is no way that SGQ will be able to perform at Kaktus op die Vlaktes this Saturday, we are confident that he will be back on his feet and Rock n Rolling in no time."

Rolling Stone wishes to extend its condolences to Paul's family, friends and fans.
