Do you pay import duties?
Yes but it has to be shipped from the UK so it could take up to a month to get here.

No, I asked two orange representative about duties, they both said they would be charged - still have the emails. Would not risk it.

Hi
I am getting conflicting information about whether it is necessary to pay import duty on the items delivered to South Africa through the orange web store. Can you please confirm if this is prepaid?

Thank you Orange Official for clarifying this. Definitely plan on ordering a few items.
Just one more query...is it possible to request an item which is not listed on your web store?? I'm desperately looking for a charging dock for my Sony Xperia Z and also the Sony branded wireless headphones.
Me too!
Did you buy your Z through them?
Dear Sir / Madam,
Due to a security restriction imposed on us by our credit card
processing company we are only able to ship your order to your credit
card statement address.
You may not be aware that in an Internet transaction the retailer
carries ALL of the transaction risk.
This is why, in order to proceed with the secure dispatch of your
order, we need the following documents:
- a copy of both sides of your ID (passport, ID card or
driving licence).
- a copy of both sides of the credit card used as a
method of payment (both sides – you can hide a group of four digits
except the first one)
- a proof of the delivery address less than 3 months old
(gas, electricity, landline, Internet bill… or any other proof of
delivery address). If the delivery address corresponds to your
office, please send us a document that proves your link to the
company (business card, professional e-mail address, payslip, etc.).
We reserve the right to ask for further details.
Hi Orange SA Official
I ordered a Nexus 4 from your site and it seems all the duty issues have been cleared up as I was told that no additional charges would happen.
BUT a few hours after placing the order I got a mail stating the following:
This sounds crazy! My credit card is a standard VISA and I've done many online purchases and have never experienced anything like this. First I don't want to send a copy of my credit card to anyone - you have my details already. Also I want my package delivered to the delivery address I gave - and I don't necessarily live there. What is the reason for this strange requirement?
Hello Richgood,
Thank you for your post.
This doesn't sound Orange at all - could you drop us an e-mail via [email protected] and we'll investigate it right away.
Regards,
Orange South Africa
