Oracle fixes 42 holes in Java to revive security confidence

42 holes? They could sell it as a fishing net!!
 
How did a company as big, experienced and knowledgeable as Oracle ever allowed things to get so bad in the first place? They only acted after threats were made. How good are their other offerings then?

Oracle doesn't care about java or any software for that matter. It's a counting firm.
