Good day all

I have the following problem with my ADSL router : Telkom D-Link DSL-2750U Router

The internet works perfectly for a while and then the internet suddenly goes off, now it is just the internet light that goes off, not the light that indicates there is a line connected. In order to get back online I have to turn the router off and on again.

I have called telkom to have my ports reset and that didn't fix the problem.

So should I just return the router to telkom or could it be a line problem? My ISP is Mweb so I doubt there would be a problem

THanks all

Hi Shadow. I had exactly the same problem with the same Model router (Brand new). Took it back to "Matrix" who sent it away for fault finding. After a month got it back and guess what, still does exactly the same. Threw mine in the dustbin and bought a TP-Link "TD-W8961ND". The TP-Link works 100%.

Have the same router, but no issues at all. Have you tried updating the firmware or perhaps loading the original firmware?

Google 2750U and problem... I think it has something to do with using wireless and ethernet at the same time.

My routers Wireless is turned off.

Regarding the original firmware how can I revert it to original firmware since it is a telkom router, is there any way I can remove telkom's firmware and update to the latest available firmware?

Not recommended, rather take it in to a Telkom Direct shop and see if they will swap it out for you - usually not a problem if they have stock.

I also had this problem when I tried one of these out. Have an old Telkom Marconi router, it started disconnecting and re-syncing far to often, tried one of these and it used to DC and then not reconnect, had to restart the router to get it to reconnect, was still synced, just couldn't connect from router or dial up via PC. I was using ethernet and wireless though as pointed out earlier.

I'm back on the marconi though, working perfectly, just took the dlink back, telkom allows you to return for refund. it did sync at 8 Mbps where my marconi syncs at 4, but have 4 Mbps uncapped ISP account, so not phased.

Hi have the same router. Use it with a 3g stick (ISP gives poor service). I had the same problem. I contacted D-link RSA support, gave me a new firmware and works well now. I cant recommend the same for you as yours is from telkom. Rather take it back

Sounds like you have a keep alive value or "on demand" Internet setting enabled.

Check under PPPoE and switch it off or set keep alive to 0.
