BlackBerry to be grilled over poor performance

BlackBerry will likely face tough questions about its future at its annual meeting on Tuesday after dismal quarterly results last week triggered a 28 percent plunge in the Canadian smartphone maker’s share price.

I just hope someone not tied to any OS buy's out BBM and release clients for all devices. I would not mind an annual fee for such a service.

My fear is that someone like Apple/Google or Microsoft is gonna get their dirty little paws on it and kill it.

Blackberry has already announced their intention to release BBM for other platforms, just google it...

Yes I know what they said, but seeing that its not out yet anything could happen, even more so when their financials are not doing so great.

Also if they release it and the company breaks up/get sold, the buyers can do with it as they wish... hence my hope that BBM never becomes property of the other big 3 as they will use it against the other 2.

BBM is not that great, there are many free chat programs out there doing the same thing, so not a big deal!
