Looking for some good sci-fi movies or series to watch. In the mood for something like Firefly etc.

Re-watching SG1 is always an option. I actually enjoyed Stargate Universe too and would have liked another season to wrap it up properly.

This. Hehe, I still need to re-watch with commentary :D
Lol. I just re-watched season 9 and 10, and I have a feeling I might just end up watching the rest of it in reverse. I definitely want to see the Replicator storyline again...maybe work backwards and finish with the original Stargate movie :). Watching it last night, this is one of the funniest scenes ever:

Christopher Judge is my favourite on the show. The directors are also a crazy bunch - found this gem watching with some commentary :D

I would love to rewatch the original Star Trek again.
I wonder if its still watchable and intriguing or has it become a cheese sandwich?

Depends. I grew up in the Next Generation era. I find the original series very difficult to watch but I guess if you grew up with it you would probably enjoy it.

I can't decide between star gate star trek or battlestar and which season in each to watch

Have you watched any of these before? Both Stargate and Battlestar Galactica (2003 one) you will have to watch from the beginning otherwise you are going to be confused and won't be as enjoyable. You can watch Star Trek TNG and TOS from anywhere imo, Voyager and Deep Space Nine I would also recommend watching from the start and I would give Enterprise a downright skip.

Thanks, haven't watched any of them before... Which one is better in terms of cool technologies and alien things.

Star Trek is very futuristicy but is still an "old" show - The original series and even to some extent The next generation does feel slightly aged. I enjoyed Star Trek Voyager very much.

Battlestar Galactica is very story driven and some people that have watched it said they got bored after a while. I think they're freaks because I loved it. It has a more industrial-futuristic feel and I guess you could call it a space soap opera but enjoyable for anybody that enjoys good space sci-fi.

Stargate has three different series': SG-1, Atlantis and Universe. All of them have their own feel but all share the same back story and there are even some stories arcing from Atlantis and SG-1 as well as some recurring characters appearing in all of the series. To me SG-1 is the best sci-fi TV series ever made as it has great story, character developments and they are not scared to introduce humour.

I'm a Stargate freak so I would tell you to first watch the Stargate movie then watch the entire SG-1 series from the start. Not so much of the early SG-1 series is "space futuristic" but it gets very much so in the later seasons. Stargate Universe is basically all in space.

Why does everyone dislike enterprise? I actually think it was better than Voyager. Especially once they get into that season 3 story arc.

The theme song put me off :D It must be the worst theme song for a science fiction show in the history of mankind.
