Err so do I just order these online? How will I know I'm getting four if I order two?

TL-PA4010
Up to 500Mbps, 300 Meters
With advanced HomePlug AV technology, the PA4010 provides users with stable, high-speed data transfer rates of up to 500Mbps on a line length of up to 300 meters.
But then:
Data interface: 1x 10/100Mbps Ethernet port
:wtf: LOL

I know you guys just sell the product but needless to say it is impossible for it to have speeds up to 500Mbps over a 100Mbps ethernet port. Can't say it instills much trust for TP-Link from my point of view...

Hi Gnome

You raise a valid point and one that we raised with TP-LINK some time ago when we picked up the same thing, the reason is quite simple, the cost difference between a 500mbps and 200mbps backplane for these types of adapters is minimal but the difference between a Gigabit and 10/100 chipset is a bit more substantial, the TL-PA4010 is mid-range in the powerline product portfolio, we have units that have the 500mbps backplane but with a Gigabit port but these are obviously more expensive.

It's called creative marketing ;)

Thanks, just wondering if this deal will still be available on Thursday .. payday ....

The special is valid while stocks last and because the response has been quite good we're almost out of stock, we only have 14 units left (7 pairs), what I'd suggest is place an order through our site, then PM me the order number and I can get them to hold a pair until Thursday.

will those power line adapters work fine if they plugged into a multiplug?

Yes, they work through a multiplug but its recommended that they're connected directly to the wall socket.
mmm, I only have 1 socket at both ends and they both have other equipment that needs to be powered...

hopefully you still have in stock next week
sucks getting paid the very last day of the month

Provided Jurgen with proof of payment just now for my pair, hope they're reserved :)

Edit: just received confirmation that my order has been shipped from Cape Town, due in PE by 13:00 tomorrow - great service guys.

Edit: 10:15am, just received my two units from WorldNet Express; that's what I call overnite delivery and reasonably priced as well.

Oooh thanks. I'm just looking for something to connect the PS3/Media Player/HTPC in another room. You say you got 5MB/s so that *should* handle HD video streaming over the lan fine.

I was actually looking at Ethernet over Coaxial using existing cables but that's a whole monster on it's own it :erm:

I would highly recommend you try to obtain a pair of powerline adapters and test them thoroughly in your house before making a purchase.

I bought a pair of TL-PA511 devices a few months back and my overall experience hasn't been positive.
The best throughput I've managed to get between my two devices is 32 Mbps (megabits per second) and that is on a good day.

Generally the speeds will fluctuate between 5Mbps and 27Mbps which is basically useless for trying to stream 1080p content.

It also seems as if some, if not all of these devices are quite susceptible to high levels of electrical interference because when my gaming rig (which has a much higher power draw) is switched on the throughput between the devices drops so low that they become virtually unusable and sometimes end up disconnecting entirely.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that the TP-link powerline adapters are k@k or that you should avoid powerline adapters at all costs (you could buy a pair and they could work really well for you) but in my experience the overall performance of the devices are dependent on the layout and quality of the electrical circuitry in your house.

You say you got 5MB/s so that *should* handle HD video streaming over the lan fine.
Just to clarify, I get about 10.7MB/s on my 10/100 network via standard network points when copying files so using the TL-PA4010 adaptors drops the speed by about 50% which shouldn't impact HD streaming if that's all you intend using them for.

As HiToKiRi says performance is very site dependent but chances are that using them to connect two adjacent rooms will be OK.
