Top TV porn channels: ICASA decision reversal explained

They can monitor applicant’s broadcast of the pornographic channels to ascertain whether the applicant is in compliance with the Code and make complaints to the BCCSA in this regard.

I love it, make the anti porn people watch the channel to find out if they can object to it.

I don't understand this. They give a whole story of why they did not allow it and why its so wrong etc... but what about our local free to air porn channel in the form of E-TV?

I have no problem with this channel [TopTV] as its in an environment that can be controlled by parents should they need/want to. Only way to control E is to throw the TV out.

So icasa says

“ICASA views pornography as a systematic practice of sexual discrimination that violates women’s right to equality and human dignity. South Africa is experiencing very high levels of violence against women, perpetrated in the main by men. Recent research has shown that South Africa has some of the highest levels of violence against women worldwide.”

So these guys are saying that only women appear in porn... does this mean 'gay porn' is not classified as porn then anymore and that will be ok to be shown without permission? Or will they ban that with the same resoning as above but with 'women' replaced by man? If they dont they are sexist.
