Hi Everyone

As the title says I want to try and put together a greast budget friendly gaming rig under:
top budget gaming rig > R15000; mid range budget gaming rig > R10000; Budget friendly low range gaming rig > R8000

I'm currently saving to build a rig. my current specs:
Motherboard: foxconn h61
CPU: intel core i3 3220 3.3gHz
Ram: 4gb 1333 MHz
HDD: 1TB Toshiba 7200 rpm
Grahpics card: Gainward GeForce gtx550ti gs 1GB
Case: Standard themaltake case
24x DVD writer
PSU: 400 watt

Let me know if you have any building/ upgrade advice! :D

I don't understand your post... do you need 3 rigs or what do you mean?
 
He's looking for best bang for buck under R8k I reckon.
I would stay away from Foxcon.

Vague attempt to disguise a "help me build my rig" by presenting it as a competition I think.

Honestly, OP....just post what your budget is & what you want. People will help you bridge the gap. Right now knows wtf you're talking about.

Also..."top budget gaming rig'...not happening.

@OP: Go back, edit the bullsht out of your post, add links to legit online dealer (rebeltech/wootware/prophecy/pcint) and calculation as to price. And lose the weird 15k/10k/8k thing...just post your budget.

I want to build a rig with a budget of R10000 but can go to about 14k. Got a quote from prophecy, Mitabyte, computers only. I'm in kzn and so Don't really want to purchase from joburg.

Any help would be apprecited and how do I edit the title of thread?
 
Do you have a case or do you need one?

What is your budget, most of us do not really want to spend an hour putting together 3 rigs when you only have x amount of spend. So be more specific and you will get the help you require.

He said 10k, but he's able to stretch it to 14k max.

NGR computers has a small variety will email them asking my build and see if they can get the parts, thanxs for the recommendation. :)
that build is probably perfect, although id take a lower card like 7850/7890. or Nvidia range of cards, what's your thoughts on NVidia.

for some of is, like I, it does not matter having faster boot up time and write speed because that is just a marketing thing.

in my opinion so please feel to free to have your own:D.

O boy, i understood this in the beginning but in 2013 i am shocked. Believe me when you get one you will be shocked as well.

Personally I feel that it's optional not necessary, especially for a gaming Pc. I've got it in my 16K build because the owner requested it, but I am trying to not blow the specified budget of 14K.

NGR Computers is very accommodating, if you want you can email [email protected] who is the owner, and he will help you out. Why would you like to take a lower model card? I don't really have a comment about Nvidia since I am pro AMD, keeping value for money in mind. If you wish to go Nvidia then you should look into a GTX670, GTX680 or GTX770.


If you don't like the case then you should have a look at these instead:

Corsair Carbide 300R - R770.00
Cooler Master HAF 912 Advanced - R1,320.00
Cooler Master CM690 II Advanced - R1,628.00

Nomnom has some good options there, remove the 1tb though. He has a 1tb drive, add in 500-600 bucks and you got a 128gb ssd. Assuming he doesn't want another 1tb drive obviously.

That's the full build I put together.

Any advice is appreciated.

Oh and secondly I was told that using an ati radeon card with intel tech will perferm less than if I used a nvidia on intel or ati on amd, is this true?

I like to get an intel 520series 120gb and I kinda need another 1th for games as the one I got is fulled with programs and I Don't know what but the is and shtuff.
 
Drop the ssd, put the money towards the gpu. I would say drop the cpu to something lower that supports hyper threading(no idea if there is something), put money into gpu. You could get the cpu that isn't k and rather put that saved 300 or 400 into the gpu kitty.

Overclocking your cpu really isn't needed, if the gpu isn't pushing the cpu what is the point? You need a better vga card. With the saving you are moving into the 7950 zone http://www.prophecy.co.za/club3d-ra....html?osCsid=d0e250ecb4de602eb679af8731e9ef6e

3.5k if you drop ssd, the k cpu and add in the current gpu price . Your vga card needs to be better dude. Keep the k cpu if you want to overclock but kick in another a grand to the build for the 7950.

No that's a myth.

Try to get a better GPU, that GPU is underpowered compared to the rest of the Pc.
