Hi Afrihost.

I have a few suggestions that I think will help other AH users:

- When you have used all your data, make the Clientzone still available. As I understand, when you have reached your cap, any website doesn't open. Not even a notice that you have used all of your cap.

- Similarly to the above, when you enter the wrong details in your router (authentication failed), show a website stating the authentication failed.... Also, give access to the Clientzone (the user can double check the username and password). What about using Javascript to check the what gateway the user is using, then display this as a link on the webpage? The user can get easy access to his/her router.

- I haven't received any SMS's regarding my data usage.

- A family member is using my MiFi & Mobile Data. What about creating a separate user on the Clientzone? Where he only has access to his usage stats?

- I ordered a data package from you guys, which was easy using the Clientzone (2.0 Beta). I did however had to use the older Clientzone to order my line and bundle it. I also had to use the older Clientzone to add the 1GB free back again (I am not sure why it isn't added automatically to each ADSL account?)

Any other users with suggestions?

Also:

Data Statistics
Total Account Data: 51.00 GB
Data Used: 13.55 GB
Average Daily Usage: 603.38 MB

How about also adding estimated monthly usage? Like the uncapped accounts have. In the above example my estimated monthly usage would be 18.70 GB (Average Daily Usage: 603.38 MB x 31 Days).
It would managing your data usage a lot easier. Since I would most probably not get capped this month, I will use more data since I am still "safe"......

I also had to use the old ClientZone in order to to upgrade my capped account with immediate effect. The new ClientZone would only make the change at the beginning of the next month.

the uncapped usage graph is not user friendly, not always the easiest to check daily usage.

I found out today its cheaper to get a 50 gig capped 20 meg bundle account (R472) and another capped 50 gig account R199 total R671 than buy one 100gig capped 20 meg bundle R723. This does not make any sense.

These are some excellent suggestions, thanks for sharing them!
Have you added them to the request a feature option in the new ClientZone yet?

To touch on a few feature requests you've added here:

Topping up can't be achieved when you're capped just yet - we still need to work on null-routing the traffic for our website and ClientZone.
Have you enabled the SMS feature via ClientZone? If so, you should definitely be receiving notifications as well as a way to top-up for Capped accounts.

Also, the new Clientzone has been in Beta for months. Maybe its time to go final?

We still have quite a bit of work to complete for the new ClientZone though :( So we need some functionality from CZ1 before we can port it over to CZ2.

Thanx AfriGuy the SMS option is working again for me.

Will send the comments through using the request a feature option.

Awesome :)
It goes straight through to our Dev team so they can take as many feature requests into consideration.

Thanks again for posting these up!

Maybe I am just being blond but is surely the line speed should be shown in the clientzone under 'My Afrihost Telkom Lines' and not just the service number?

Great suggestions! But this wouldnt be possible because in order for them to show it - it would need to be authenticated on their network.

Yup - it is?

Mweb does this from what I am aware. Or at least I recall a 'wrong password' page being served to me by mweb at one stage in the past few years. I assume they do this by accepting any user+password combo, but then serve up this password page for any request originating from an unauthenticated user.

Oh yes! I guess you could in that sense.
