So my fox is gone... sort of. I'm waiting for the money to clear and then I'm sending it off to the new owner.

Now I have R15k to use as a deposit. I've been looking at second hand, new and even old rentals. It's all just getting a bit overwhelming now and I'm really not sure how to continue with this. So if anyone can give me some advice about where to look or what they would recommend that would be great!

Details:
Have to buy another car before December.
Looking for something that has at least a 1.0l engine.
No citi golfs, I want something different now

Open to any and all suggestions.

So you taking out finance? 07 Polo 1.4l or an i10?

I might go down the finance path. Or I could borrow some cash from the father and pay him back. Maybe I should have mentioned that... Although he will only lend out a total of about R40k, so finance might be better.

I guess the Polo over the i10.

get a toyota conquest or tazz

with a budget of under 50k I think that would be my only recommendation

What about a new Clio 0.9TCe? Those lil cars are great value for money..

EDIT: Scratch that. Only saw the R40k post later. Maybe look at some Civic or something?

Tazz/Conquest/Corolla would be your best bet.

Bullet proof motors on those things

All three cars I have owned was bought within a day, so time is not the problem you are facing. What you do need to know in order to buy a car in a day is :
1) your budget - how much are you sure will get to spend on the car
2) what brand\size of car do you want

If you have those two then you can buy a car fast.

If you can't find anything better than a city golf ... buy it ... they are cheap.

I have actually found a couple of cars. And have a friend going to Joburg, so might get him to look at a car and pick one up for me. For now there is a Hyundai Accent around the corner that's a pretty good price at the dealership. So looking into that.
