Recommend me a R5000 smart phone

I lost my phone last night, a blackberry 8520 phone. I had the phone for like more than 2 years. I guess it was time for it go get lost so I can buy a new phone.

I have a budget of R5000 cash to spend on a new Android cellphone. What phone do you recommend I get?

I do the following on the internet, I:
- Browse the net reading articles from websites such as moneyweb and finweek.
- I use Twitter quite a lot, Facebook, LinkedIn and not forgetting MyBroadBand :)
- I'll use the phone's google maps a lot to find my way around places.
- Listen to music, watch videos, listen to the radio and reading ebooks if possible.
- I'll watch quote a bit of Youtube videos.
- I'll use my phone to take pictures here and there, and
- I'm planning to use my phone to start shooting Youtube videos of myself and post them on youtube.

I can also buy myself a standalone ebook, and also buy a separate digital camera which I can use to shoot Youtube videos of myself.

So what phone do you recommend I buy guys?

Get whatever contract you can that will total up to R5000 to R6000 over 2 years. Pay the R5000 into your car ;).

Here is why:
My Galaxy S2 cost around R7000 start of 2012 when I got mine on contract. I paid R299pm for it over 2 years, that works out to almost R7200. In the meantime I got airtime and data and sms's to use and never paid in extra.

If you pay the R5000 into your car, you will also be "getting a return" of whatever interest rate you car is financed at. If your car is paid off already by now, then ignore what I said.
 
I'm always going to get a Nexus phone in future. Tired of manufacturers messing me about with no or much later upgrades.
 
The going rate for a sealed/brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 is R5000-R5200 when bought second hand. Here are two examples: 1 & 2

If you want to avoid the hassle of shipping a Nexus 5 here, this might be an good option.

I would go this route... Possibly one of the top 5 phones to have in this day and age...
 
Sony Z1 , Galaxy S4, HTC One, LG G2 -- all 2nd hand but they will probably be near to brand new condition

Nexus 5 -- just hassle of importing etc.

A hassle, and also R6000. It is a great phone for that price though.

I'm sorry, but if I'm in the OP's shoes, and he says he lost he's phone... I don't what all the hassle of getting the phone here... If I got the cash, I want the phone today, or even tomorrow if need be...Nexus 5 seems a great phone, it really does. But untill a local retailer or bank can sell the device, I'm not sure I would go that route... That's just me...
