Oh great. The MAFIAA are starting here as well.

Can someone explain how this falls under the Counterfeit Goods Act? Surely the uploader didn't insist or pretend that it was the genuine product.

but that's uploading. I was under the impression its fine if you don't do a stupid thing like sharing the stuff. personal consumption is fine/ohk.

Guldenpfennig said that she could not yet reveal the name of the film that was uploaded, but said it was a high-profile South African film.
Wonder what film it is. My first guess would be "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom". But that isn't a "South African film" is it? Perhaps the new Leon Schuster movie...

“Downloaders think they can hide on the Internet. Uploaders think they can hide, but they can’t no matter how smart they think they are,” Guldenpfennig said.

Certified ethical hacker, bwahahahahahahaha

Every time I hear this accredited term I’m confused.

Yes, you are right.

There is no laws against downloading and being in possession.

The laws prevents selling or sharing and that the reason why this person was arrested.

Uploading and sharing in torrent terms are basically the very same thing.
