Hi guys,

ISP: Telkom ISP
Device: Roku3
Line: 4Mbps
Area: Cpt, Northern Subs
DNS: UnoTelly
Modem: Billion BiPac52..

Anyone else notice weird sh*t happening on Netflix in the last 2 to 3 days? In particular, movies begin streaming, then stops to buffer, plays on (this repeats a few times) then eventually simply freezes. I did a speed test and results all seemed fine. Also called Telkom (30 minutes of my life gone) to check the account, modem and line status which was all good. One small thing I picked up was that the ADSL light on the modem (usually a steady green) flashes intermittently. I reset the modem to the default factory settings and started from scratch to try and resolve this. Anyone else having issues? Your input? - Appreciated.

Telkom are having issue in the last few days with International traffic.
Netflix, Hulu, etc. all have issues.

Should be sorted soon, hopefully.

Hi Electric,

Thanks for that intel. Any idea where on Telkom ISP's portal I could check for network status or fault updates etc.? Would've been really great if the tech support guy knew about it instead of telling me that my modem was dead :wtf:

Netflix & Hulu working flawlessly for me... Telkom capped + eleDNS.

I don't think they have a network status indicator.
Would be really nice though.
I just follow the feedback threads to get a good idea of the status.

It's a bit of an annoyance but in the interim I have been using nzb to download the shows I'd normally watch on Hulu.
I get full speeds downloading on nzb.

Mine plays ok, but the quality is terrible, especially dark scenes. That's on a 4 Mbps line.

Have had no problems watching Netflix, watching at the moment using 20Mbps VDSL on Afrihost.

i'm having trouble with iPlayer buffering every 5 minutes. yesterday evening streaming was fine until about 21:00 when it all came to a grinding halt.

up until saturday 4th there were no problems at all. ISP WebAfrica.

Does anyone still have issues? Using Telkom ISP 4MB and Uno. Been buffering for 5min. then played for 5 seconds and started buffering again

Speed tests fine. Youtube streams 720p no problem.

ditto.
4mb line here.. Ti... speedtest is flying... but netflix is cr@p... just as you say you have it, i have it too.
they need to sort this out man...

Exactly the same problem. Tried on 4 different devices. Sometimes Netflix doesnt even load.
Pings to Netflix.com times out. The web page doesnt load either.

speedtest.net

You can select a server in a specific country/region to test to.
Should give you a good indication of your connectivity to that country.

Why are you pointing this out to me?
I never asked the question and you didn't even answer it.
risami asked if there was a network status indicator on Telkom which there is not.
No one asked for a link to speedtest or a link to test the hulu connection.

Read ppl, it's not difficult.
