Galaxy S5 or Galaxy Note 3?

I am due for an upgrade in June this year. I enjoy my Galaxy Note 2 and need to obviously decide between a Galaxy S5 or Galaxy Note 3, or digging an old cell phone out that I can use until the Galaxy Note 4 comes out later in the year whenever that may be.

Any educated thoughts?

Why dig out an old phone, why not just use the Note 2 until the new one comes out?
 
^ This. Get the Note 4. You will hate the smaller screen size of the S5. I have the Note 3, tried to use my S3, it felt and looked like the s3 mini. Tried to use one of those and my fingers just couldn't get on the screen :p.

Xperia Z2 will be out by then.
 
I've been deciding between the Note 3 and the S5. Based on rumours the S5 was winning. Based on immediate post launch "disappointment" that we were fed by the tech media the Note 3 seemed like a good option again. Based on recent real life testing and reviews, not just brief handling at MWC and jumping to conclusions, the S5 is my phone of choice again.
 
Grab the S5. You might actually appreciate a smaller phone ;). I had an issue with my Note 2 at one stage and borrowed a mate's S3 for about a week. As soon as my Note was up and running again I sold it and got myself a Huawei P6. Its much nicer to have a phone so much smaller IMO :). Now I'm actually waiting for the S5 Mini which will hopefully be even smaller.

There are many advantages to a big screen but if you have a tablet, I actually don't see the need. Between the Note 3 and the S5, the S5 is the better phone

Why not Z1 compact?
 
Rather wait for the Note 4? That's what I'm gonna do. I'm currently using a s4
 
I have the same issue. Upgrade due today. Not sure what to get; the S5, Z2 or wait for Note 4. My boet is upgrading to the S5, so I will take over his S4 which is an upgrade from my current S3. Then I will sit on the fence and decide what to do when all the phones are launched.
 
Well I am in a similar position. I have had the S3 and regretted not waiting for the Note 2 when it came out.
However now that the S5 is coming out, there really isn't much that that makes me really look forward to it.

I feel as though I am done with Samsung and I should check others such as Motorola and HTC. Not for features but purely for design.

To be honest though the only thing keeping me within the top brands is Dropbox. If Dropbox matches googles 2$ per month for 100gigs then I am dumping the high brands and going for cheap chinese android with 1gig ram or more.
