I need headphones, hence the Forumnite's advise, nothing that costs more than R1500 (excl. VAT).

It can either be corded or cordless as I will only be using these at my desk to do work and casual gaming, I have shortlisted these:

1. Corsair Vengeance® 2100
2. Cooler Master Storm Sirus
3. Asus Vulcan PRO
4. Logitech H800

Then those which depletes my allocated budget:

5. Steelseries 9H
6. Steelseries Siberia V2
7. Logitech G35

Kindly advise any other headphones as these I obtained by looking at only one pricelist. My pick will be solely made on recommendations that I will receive on this Forum, everyone I know is old school and I have retired my old Pro.2 PH-370V headphones, thus my local advisers are limited in this regard.

Currently the Vengeance® 2100 and G35 looks quite appealing to me.

Sennheiser: any model you can afford

I've got the HD 449's, love em. But I do think it's pretty much just a question of budget. Even Dion Wired stocks a few

My vote would be for the siberia.

Siberia's get my vote as well. Been very happy with mine. If you're happy to take one of the less popular colours you can get them for under R1k. Green for example is R815 versus white for R1k. Check out WootWare. They have the purple for R660 if you're happy with purple ;)

I know you mentioned the price and all that but...I tested this the other day...The best head phones in my opinion.

Yup, seeing many positives on the Siberia. Noted quality problems with the G35, the earpiece (cushion) gets damaged quite early so it seems that it's a disaster case with wear and tear.

I will purchase directly through the supply channel or through an entity purchasing in bulk.

Sorry to jump in here Fulcrum. I am also looking for a good pair. Leaning towards the Siberia. Can you notice a difference between 5.1 & 7.1?

No thanks.I will stick with my Sennheiser HD280.

@ OP. Do they need to have Microphone?

Not as a requirement, but at the price one can expect it to be a standard. This is also a purchase which must last me over the long term.

No problem, Forums are there to assist us all. Also have a interest in 5.1 / 7.1 and when it comes down to be virtualised (digital) or real (true) output.

If you don't need a mic these are awesome and they sound better than these other gaming products. I use mine for about 5 hours a day and are super comfy, barely feel them. Should be around R1k.

If you like music with a lot of base opt for the 439 rather though.
