ADSL order TELKOM

After emailing and getting no response, I decided to give them a call (waited around 30 mins) and ordered. I was then told that my line was now converted to postpaid but the ADSL system or something is down and i'll have to wait for that order number (hope they don't forget to sms me it).

I then was told i cannot use my mums bank details to debit because the telephone account was not in her name, so now i must phone the billing department once i get my adsl order number and then ask them if internet transfer is possible and what details is needed etc.

( so now i'm just waiting)

i then asked when will the guys come install the adsl for me and she said " you'll have to wait for a sms to go and pick up the modem from nearest telkom store and do self install. The deal says though "free installation" but i'm not going to argue.

I'm sure i can do the physical part like connect the cables and micro filter etc but with the router set up using pc , i'm not entirely sure. (hoping theres a manual)

So yeah, that's my experience.

UPDATE : i got this sms now "Telkom internet is now active. Access username xxxx , temporary password xxxx"

i assume i use these to set up the router and adsl? and do you think its possible i can go tomorrow to fetch the router since adsl is now active.

Still waiting for the "ADSL has been activated" sms so i can go fetch the modem, apparently will take 7-14 days ( testing etc) . Quick question when configuring the router, will the guide/manual tell me what to change and not to change? :confused:
