Hey guys,

I am getting 110KBps downloads (on a 4mbps line) on the Windows 10 ISO's and have been experiencing a similar thing for the last week or so.

I changed to Webafrica (IS backbone) and I am getting 430KBps and Afrihost seem non the wiser. Their support continuously tells me that I am being thottled by around 18% but even if it was 50%, I am getting a fraction of my download speed.

I then tired a torrent file and I noticed that its pulling at less than 5KBps (yes, single digit) vs my other ISP account that's pulling at a reasonable 400KBps (ish). (http://imgur.com/bhiTO2W)

I honest don't know what to do. If you are using Afrihost and have no issues like this, please let me know because I am a day or two away from simply migrating to another ISP (might not be WA, I was just using it as an example here since they are not on the same backbone).

I can grab trace routes, pathpings, etc but to be honest, I am just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

Please advise, really appreciate your time.

Yes - A lot of people in the afrihost threads have been experiencing the same issues for the past few months or so.

Afrihost flat out deny that they have any issues but it is very obvious they do - No matter how many traceroutes, pathpings, speedtests etc etc you send them - they still deny any knowledge of issues.

The reason why there are issues is because they are running on the fine limit of their IPC capacity - Therefore they are shaping everybody to the maximum so they do not have to fork out more money before the Telkom IPC Price Reductions.

Simple Solution: Change to another ISP (Not axxess) My recommendations are either Webafrica or crystal web.

That's a pity, I have always recommended them to all my students (I am a MCT and Cisco trainer) but it seems that's going to have to stop. I havn't actually seen CrystalWeb, I will check them out, thank you.
