NO ISP account other than Telkom guest account works

I got a new 4Mbps line from Telkom yesterday. I did a self install.

I tested it with the Telkom guest account and I can browse to saix website only.

Requested mweb trial account. I can get allocated an IP on the MWEB network but nothing works. Can't ping any IP.
Support can't help me. They pick up I'm connected to their network but can't answer why nothing works.
I can't even ping an IP from the router interface

Tried Afrihost. Get PAP authentication errors. Just can't get login. Afrihost support tells me they have had issue and that I wait 20 minutes and restart router try again. It doesn't help.

Axxess. They bill and supsend me the same day. Useless.

Is Telkom really the only service provider that works?
 
You need to talk to Telkom and ask them to activate the line. It's the last step of self provisioning.

/edit they might call it verify, or something.

I did the self install yesterday. Phone Telkom today and the say 7 to 10 working day wait. FFS if saix works on guest account surely it's just a button to press to enable the line.

Does anyone know anyone at Telkom to bribe to do it faster?
I already waited 3.5 weeks and another 2 week is going to drive me insane

Sounds like nonsense - not from you, but them. Maybe keep phoning 'til you get someone that will do it for you immediately - a pain, but that should work. Tell them the wait is driving you ''bossies" :p

Phone and ask to speak to Service Activation. Also tweet @HelloTelkom
 
Got sorted. i was under the impression the self activation url is instant but it's still a manual process for someone to click a button to activate the port. That's why it took a couple of days.
 
Did u pay the R700 deposit,new connection ,had adsl..but moved.Guy told me your line will be up in 7 days,so on the phone 3 days in just to check... sorry sir u haven't paid the deposit..i was like what 700 no one mentioned this to me..was on the phone with manager arguing to explain to me what the 700 is for and they could not give me a clear answer. line was on after i paid,lekke skelm
