Plex hacked – change your password

The hacker is also holding everything at ransom for 9.5BTC

No amount of security is enough security

Hacked again lol:
What happened
Yesterday, we discovered suspicious activity on one of our databases. We immediately began an investigation and it does appear that a third-party was able to access a limited subset of data that includes emails, usernames, and encrypted passwords. Even though all account passwords that could have been accessed were hashed and secured in accordance with best practices, out of an abundance of caution we are requiring all Plex accounts to have their password reset. Rest assured that credit card and other payment data are not stored on our servers at all and were not vulnerable in this incident.

Get lost.... those hackers are free to share the content on my library. There are about 2,000 full series for them to enjoy. They shouldn't bother with card payments, as I used a virtual card and cancelled it right after the payment. As I normally do with all my online payments.

It doesn't say anything about Credit Card details being accessed.

No, it doesn't, but I am saying it in case they don't want to. Golden rule for online payments - use a virtual card for every single payment you make and cancel the card right afterwards.

@rvZA grasping at straws again.

Or just use a credit card like any sane person.

But I do.

I just create a virtual card quick, make the payment and delete the card. That way I will be safe if my information ever leaks. You, on the other hand, not so much.
