Internet suggestions and help (pretty much a noob)

I need assistance please from people who know more than me

I am with AH, 10mb capped 100gb account (syncing at 8.1mb) paying R579 ex Telkom line rental: Total = R778

I will use max, 50gb a month if I am lucky.. I used 11gb the whole of June.

I would like to get a mobile data sim of around 500mb-1gb (Afrihost has good deals on that and it seems I do not have to be a customer of ADSL or anything else to get this)

My ADSL line and ISP are bundled with AH. I know the new VOX deal of R164 for 100gb which never expires your unused data (this would be ideal as I would download full digital games a few times and would like to have the option of having all the extra data I don't use usually for this)

I would firstly like to get the BEST possible deal for the amount I am paying (don't want to spend more, preferably less)

Please advise (with links) as I just want good internet.. I don't think I even need a 10mb line, I just play online Ps4, that's it.

My options so far:

1) Telkom Fastest ADSL 10mb + line included = R500 (this includes the supposed 25% discount which is not visable on the website) then get the Vox deal for R164: Total Price: R664

2) Stay with AH on my current accounts and hope they get better......

3) Get the full Telkom Do Premium for R699 all inclusive a month with 50gb

4) Telkom Faster ADSL bundle (4mb line inclusive of Telkom rental) with the 25% discount = R366 per month then get the VOX 100gb special R164: Total price = R530

5) Stay with AH with my ADSL line - R399 then get VOX R164 then still have to pay Telkom R189 = R752

If I do the Telkom route, I will have to get my line taken back from AH, what is the process and is there any delay in my internet? Don't want to not have internet for more than a few days at most...

As I said, my line syncs at 8mb on my 10mb and supposedly this can lead to poor connection (over and above AH problems) if I get the 4mb line (when I had it, it was working perfectly)

I would appreciate your input.. I saw the Do Premium for R699 (do you get the 25% off if I cancel with AH and move over)
 
Rather get that VOX 100GB special now. The data rolls over so you never lose it.

Yeah, was thinking that.. but for R505 (if the discount is included) I keep my 10mb line and get 50gb a month

If I drop down to 4mb line bundle (R366 with discount) and get the Vox 100gb = R530

On the phone with Telkom now, going to see what the story is :)

Still unsure as to what to get out of the two.. would prefer to keep my 10mb line as it syncs at 8.1mbs which is pretty good

but to get 4mb full speed with 100gb carried over every month is also something I want

Someone mentioned something about unlimited PSN downloads on that Do Premium.. this is all I use internet for pretty much

If I can get that, then this is all I need = Do Premium
 
I have just cancelled my Afrihost account! Good riddance!

Effective as of 31st July 2015

I am going to Telkom Do Premium (10mb line (will cap at 8mb) 50gb soft cap, free night surfer data) and uncapped PSN/Xbox downloads) plus I am getting a 25% discount on the total price = R524 per month

Once your account is live enable traffic prioritisation from the control panel ;)

Oh and provide some feedback in the softcap feedback thread on how it performs for you.

If you are an internet Noob I always recommend keeping things with Telkom. Just makes things easier.

Thanks mate, I will do that once I am up and running.. How will this help?

I am hoping that the PSN downloads are uncapped.. The agent confirmed that this is the case :)

It gives higher priority to traffic that needs it like voip, video, gaming etc

I'm not sure but for uncapped gaming I think you need the dogaming addon. Dunno if they signed you up for that or not.
