Massive growth for Cell C: Blue Label

However, following feedback from the networks, the group said it has stopped the reports.

I guess the "big two" don't like it when figures are released showing rapid growth of a competitor.

I really don't understand the Cell C haters ... Is it related to voice connection issues or data speeds? I've been using Cell C data for past three years and apart from one bed spell over a period of around a month with on and off bad speeds, in general I've been more than happy with them. Accepted, I was an iBurst refugee, so almost anything would be better, my experience overall has been very good.

Constant dropped calls and periods where nothing would get through to my Cell C (no SMSes, no phone calls) consistently over the 2 year period of my contract made me say goodbye. I started using my Telkom landline to phone family members because I knew it was reliable. I had to get security at my complex to phone me on my landline rather than my cellphone - calls to my cellphone just never went through.

EDIT: A little more clarity. My phone would get into a state where it would say I have signal, but I would actually have none. Of course I'd be unaware of this, but other people would be unable to phone me. I've seen other Cell C people reporting similar problems. Swapping the firmware of my phone did nothing to help.

Oh I understand it quite well. Try two years of crappy connection issues and constant disconnects!

I have 5 Cell C contracts, and there are a few issues, not to warrant an outburst. And it was the MTN's poor coverage at my home that forced me to change my main contract

I've moved from cell c prepaid to MTN prepaid. Can't say it's any better.
