Australian Immigration Minister Peter Dutton has been given new powers to execute mandatory deportation for David Volmer, a Christian priest who is a part of an eight-man paedophile ring in the country. Volmer, a native of South Africa, pleaded guilty to 12 offences including indecently dealing with a child, stupefying in order to commit an indictable offence and sexual penetration of a child.

The 41-year-old father of two was in Australia on a work visa. According to police, the Christian priest was one of the eight men who allegedly molested and raped a 13-year-old girl several times over the past couple of years. Western Australia Police described the alleged crime as “bizarre and really disturbing.”

The WA Child Protection Department is taking care of the victim. WA Police Commissioner Karl O'Callaghan said that a number of public had raised concerns about the teenage girl’s well-being.

“It's important people understand what their children are doing online as well because there are cyber predators out there that will groom children online or even try to meet them,” ABC News quoted O'Callaghan, “This is a terrible case but it is a reminder there are people out there who will prey on our children.” He added that people should be vigilant about their online activities.

The victim’s father allegedly facilitated the abuse as he arranged for the other men to meet his daughter at a number of locations. One of the suspects had four million child pornography photographs and 200,000 videos. Some of the photographs belong to the victim.

Pastor David Volmer faces court over paedophile ring charges

A former pastor will be sentenced in WA's District Court in November for his part in a paedophile ring in which a 13-year-old girl was abused.

Dawid Volmer, also known as David Volmer, pleaded guilty to 12 charges including indecent dealing, sexual penetration of a child and stupefying with intent to commit an offence.

Volmer appeared briefly in court this morning and a sentencing date of November 5 was set.

His lawyer said psychiatric reports had been prepared on Volmer for the sentencing judge.

Volmer was again released on bail and outside the court appeared to fight back tears as he was questioned by reporters.

He was the former State Manager of Prison Fellowship Western Australia.

The organisation said he resigned from his position when it was made aware of the charges against him.

He is one of eight men, including the girl's father, facing hundreds of charges relating to the paedophile ring.

It is alleged the men knew the father, who "facilitated" what happened.

One of the seven has pleaded guilty, while the remaining six, including the father, are yet to enter pleas to the charges against them.

i knew this guy. Or thought I did. Worked for him for 4 years in his previous life in IT. Always a bit dodgy but never suspected this.
 
It's seldom that I read news that makes me feel sick to my stomach, this story manages to achieve that

He was extremely preachy but would often drink a lot and make advances towards female colleagues.
My wife never liked him at all, said he gave her the creeps. She's not surprised by this.

It is odd how it's generally 'we would NEVER have thought', or 'yeah, I'm not surprised'.

This is probably part of the difference between out and out sociopaths, and people who are genuinely sick and broken.
 
If they insist on deportation, I hear the nose landing gear of the Qantas 744 is rather refreshing, especially at 30 000 ft :mad:

And yet most children are sexually abused not by a guy like this, but by a step dad or boyfriend or uncle - someone who is close and well known and often liked, after all scary looking people are not usually allowed near one's children, except in really poor socio-economic situations.

As for out and out sociopaths, most of NKVD and SS officers were pleasant folks. They'd rape, murder, beat to death by day, and be nice in the evening. Goebbels also had children who must have thought he was a nice dad.

Well that also goes with what I was saying. But in general your child rapist is not some ugly looking guy you run away from...or someone who gives you bad vibes.
