How to automate your home with your smartphone

We had it installed about a year ago and never looked back.

Just recently added a relay to control the pool and geyser, all working great.
 
Built mine using arduino/pi/esp9266. I would imagine the installation costs are high - electrical certification is required. Maybe someone that has had it installed can elaborate on pricing.

For a unit that does all that - R1500 is not a bad price at all.

Very little effort really. The relays/transmitters etc can be bought separately, I think the prices are on their website.

We paid an electrician to install a couple of light switches, geyser relay (didn't go for their geyser wise thing), pool pump relay but Qwikswitch claim some of the switches are DIY.

With the hub for R1 500, insert and activate the SIM card, load data plug it into any plug point and log onto the Qsmobile site where you can view your installation modules and switch them on or off, set a timing schedule and so on. When I'm away for a few days I swich the geyser on 3 or 4 hours before getting home so water's hot for a bath. Quick and easy.

To be brutally honest the quality isn't the greatest (remote is a bit bulky and plasticky but it's a couple of hundred rand and it works so I'm not complaining).

If you're interested speak to Dillan in the Cape Town office, he's clued up.

Just for the record - I'm in no way affiliated to Qwikswitch and don't know anybody who is.

R1 500 is only for the hub, or controller. Relays, transmitters, switches etc are bought separately and added as required.

It's still very affordable.
