Telkom Smartplan 100- SIM only _ no more Gig of data

Anybody signed up for this plan ?

I just noticed that the SIM-only R99 contract no longer includes a GIG of data but only 150Mb.
I think all the smartplans lost the major data potion

Does anybody know if this was a promotional intro offer that ended or a change in conditions?

Suddenly these plans lost a lot of luster and will result in a rethink of my plans
 
Does the additional data usually show up in your balances or only after you use the initial 150mb? I had a similar query.
 
No the plan details on their site changed. Use to have 1 gig extra data, made it very attractive. Was going to sign on the dotted line - not any more
 
That is only the unlimited Telkom mobile data that should have ended in March. At least that is how I read that
 
As I understrand it you only get the extra Gig of data if you take the contract with a phone.
 
Well the website did have the added 1GB removed at some stage, and now I see it is back.

The kicker is, on the website it says "with or without a device".

I have the smart plan 100. When I took it out about 20 months ago they had 5GBs of data on Telkom and 100MB on MTN.

Then it went to 1GB and now nothing? When my contract renews I will have to rethink as there will be no 5GB anymore. :/

The always-changing website is going to lead to a lot of confusion and frustration.

I am on the same plan with the 5Gb Telkom data. The last call center agent I spoke to said the 5Gb will remain if I let the contract run month to month. Not sure about that as it is contrary to what i have heard previously but she even confirmed with her supy. Will wait and see what happens after October. Will just mean I'll have to buy a device cash.
