Telkom Direct Stores, Telkom and their franchises

So I need a phone, I've retired my phone and went to Telkom to take out a new contract and what an experience.

Called a branch in Tokai, no answer..., went online to http://www.telkom.co.za/today/help/personal/talk-to-us-anchor/#start-chat they said go to telkom with ID etc.. Went there they can't help they say go to Telkom Direct in Kenilworth, get home, call TM direct Kenilworth - no answer, Claremont - no answer, 10210 (option 1 sales) on hold for 15 mins and ended the call.

Eventually decide to go to Telkom direct Kenilworth low and behold, there shop is being renovated and there is only a simple kiosk upstairs, and at this point I was told there is NO STOCK. (iPhone 5S)

OMFG :mad:

The website clearly has it, Telkom's own marketing brochure has it for the month.

Why oh why do they a) not answer the phones b) state they have no stock on the website, I'm at a loss for words, here..

Cellucity has the 16gb 5s for R299pm on topup 200(calls are expensive on this plan) or smart s (minutes+data+sms). At the bottom of the ad it states : "apple certified preowned" aka used.

Be careful with these 5s cos you might end up with a used device on a 24month contract

Telkom often doesn't have stock of devices (for years now), including the laptops and tablets, I always give them grief about it but they don't change their ways.
