Assuming that its priced around the UK pricing (so R750k odd of the base model)... would you take this or the new Everest?

You can't...not yet.

The top engine for his has that lovely 3L S/C V6 from the F-Type with 250kw or 280kw.

The Biturbo 300bhp diesel looks like a winner as well. 700nm! Not far of the X5/X6 M50d

Jaguars have round selectors for the auto box and this probably has steering shifters too.

Jags for a number of years have had a rotary dial where the traditional gear lever would be.

The previous XF was the 1st model to incorporate this.

There would of course be steering levers as well.

But from what I've heard, Ford are aiming the Everest as a Prado rival rather than a Fortuner rival....

I dunno how they can, but I've heard it from a salesman or two here in SA.. and looking at the prices in Aus it does seem to be vaguely true.
