Pulled from the CW thread:

Fibre To The Home is about to become a reality.

It's taken some time, but all tests have proved successful, and we are now prepared to deploy our FTTH solutions across the country. In addition we have partnered with 2 other operators, and 3 backhaul providers to create the first national fibre registry for open access fibre in the country. You can view and register your interest in fibre broadband at http://fibrenetwork.co.za/

We naturally do require a critical mass to be reached before any process can begin to cost out a specific FTTH build.

In addition to our own fibre deployments, our Vumatel links are finally in place and ready to rock and roll. More connections with various other partners to be released in the coming days.

Please do share the above link high and wide and help us to get fibre deployed across the country...

The more the merrier!!

Because it was not activated. But is now. And you can register for interest in the Eastern Cape now...:)

Most ISPs have a once of cost of R1500-R1700, yet you don't have it as an option.

I take it you amortize the balance?

I take it it's all on contract?

Most ISPs?

There's currently only one provider doing this, and that's Vumatel. So not sure there's a real benchmark to be had here.

With respect to the details, we will release the specific product offerings to each area individually. There is no one-size fits all approach to this...

Hi Crystalweb

The Lynnwood Fibre Initiative is currently surveying our area for interest in fibre, ad we will eventually create an RFP to send out to the fibre providers. Who should I contact to liaise with on this matter at crystal web?

You can PM me and I'll share the details of one of our Fibre Account Managers with you who can begin the feasibility process.

Alternatively you can register here and one of our AMs will contact you directly - http://www.crystalweb.co.za/fibrefeasibility.php?

When can we expect the first areas to get connected?
