Saw fibre being laid last week cnr Hawken rd and Ostrich road in Bromhof.

Now they are extending along Bromhof road until the end of the road. Any idea who is doing this? Have searched online and have not a clue which company is involved

If nobody tells us earlier I'll post at 9. I work there so will ask them.

Sister asked and says it's Telkom but I'd prefer to check myself.

K so I don't know much about these things but the guy working there says it's "dark fibre" or "dark africa".... something like that. Says they maintain the fibre and rent it out.

He'll find put today and let me know who to phone.

Does that make sense?

I asked the guy there also. He told me its for futuretel . Specifically for the IT company at the corner .

Googled futuretel and found : www.futuretelsa.co.za

The company at the corner is DMT IT solutions. I know they do Google cloud seminars and the like. : www.dmt.co.za

from DFA coverage page. that little red bit starts at intersection of ostrich and hawken and curves to end outside the IT company.

soz for the huge/pale picture.

Aaah, so it's a planned section. Let's hope it's for a client, then it will be lit quickly

Hi Guys.

Any update on this?. I live in bromhof and for the past 6 months I have basically been without internet. Fibre is now the only way for me as the LTE latency is too high.

Nothing. No provider is providing retail sales as far as I can see

Eek!! How many people required? I don't think there are that many residents in Bromhof. We have been gerrymandered out of FTTH

Are there a lot of complexes in your area? VUMA works from Census data. So if you have a lot of complexes, that can push up the number. If a lot of homes come and speak to VUMA as a RA they may be able to relook the number.

I know of two huge complexes in bromhof. Don't know anyone there as I'm new in the area though.

Do you guys have a Residents association, or Community Association. Or facebook page.

We also struggled initially, until the RA stepped in, it gives you access to a lot of email addresses to mail, raise awareness.

Also, if you approach Vuma, they may be able to help with some flyers etc
