R20 to the US dollar under Zuma?

What does you being black has anything to do with your post? You are playing right into the stereotypes.

Being Black has everything to do with it. Being Black does not mean i'm obliged to vote for ANC. Times have changed. It's high time we stop playing the race card. This country is deteriorating because of playing the race card.

Considering that a large majority (70%+) of black voters vote ANC - it is not an outreageous assumption.
It's exactly that stereotype that is preventing the country from moving forward, where the ANC is seen as black and the DA is seen as white. People need to stop it. How do you encourage black people to stop voting along racial lines, when you're still stereotyping them...

Mike you have said it all. We need to stop such stereotypes.

It's unfortunate but it's the reality of the situation - not an unfounded stereotype. Things are also not going to change because as South Africans we are too politically immature to do it any other way.

It doesn't help when guys like Miamane takes over a party like the DA and the first things that happen are a white woman gets kicked out of the party for an unfortunate social media mistake and he fails to declare income and then makes excuses why it doesn't matter.

Exactly:

/black person sees the current mess in SA

/I think I'll vote for someone else to stick it to these corrupt politicians

/maybe the DA

/looks online for political opinions about ANC alternatives

/sees racist drivel posted on FB, twitter, MyBB etc. by DA supporters about black people

/**** the DA, the ANC maybe corrupt but at least they and their supporters don't see me as subhuman filth

/back to the ANC I go, or better yet to the EFF, **** these racist whites, Juju will sort them out

Or worse, the EFF.

Well if any of those hypothetical people stumble upon this I would like to assure them that I in no way consider them sub human and I am in absolutely no way a DA supporter.

I advise you to start your own automomous collective.

No, black has got nothing do with it. Black people have been voting for other parties since 1994. The fact that so many people vote ANC from 1994 was because of an unjust system against the majority. THat majority just happens to be black.

You would've had the same outcome if an unjust system of about 340 years was against any other race. The success of Eff and Cope in a relatively short time is ample evidence of people ready to vote for an alternative...if they are presented with an option they can identify with, or feel comfortable with.

Did you know that 7 million registered voters did not vote last year? Do you realise that if the DA were a better opposition party, they could've effectively won the election with that 7 million disgruntled voters. But they didn't...why?

R20 to the US dollar under Zuma?

A currency researcher says that President Jacob Zuma as overseen the worst performance of the rand out of all prior leaders in the country.

When adjusted for inflation, the rand needs to weaken to over R26 to the $ before we can make that statement. Time value of money needs to be considered.

But not staying this won't happen.

Because the DA seems to lack an identify of their own. They don't seem to stand for anything other than being anti-ANC.

Had some DA call centre person call me the other day, going on about municipal elections next year and how they can win Joburg from the ANC. I asked them what does the DA stand for that should make me want to vote for them, and the response was "err Zuma this, and ANC that".

The only reason why I currently vote DA is to enforce competition and accountability. As soon as a better alternative comes along and starts gaining traction, I will switch over unless the DA gets its act together...

First of all, stop voting ANC, then we can talk.

That's precisely the attitude that is driving a wedge between white saffies and the black middle classes. You assume that because he's black he votes ANC and don't give him any credit for having a brain.

Why? It's still effective enough to win the majority vote.

Too many people think like that and that it is so wrong. Your vote counts very effective even if you are voting for the Dagga party. Seats are allocated based on percentage of total votes.

Example: If 1 million of the Anc's votes in 2014 were for many tiny parties, that resulted in NO seats for them, the Anc would have had 25 LESS seats.

Can you point me to some links where I can see this racist drivel by DA supporters about black people? I'm genuinely curious.
