Some decent deals on at the moment.

I have R320 to spend - thinking of getting Metal Gear. Any recommendations? I like long and difficult games like Deus Ex etc. and I'm conflicted because I've heard mixed reviews about MGSV. Alien Isolation looks fun too (R122).

What are you guys gonna get?

As someone who didn't play the previous games and just watched a YT summary, MGSV is fun. got repetitive after a while but it is worth the buy mainly because you can play how you want. Stealth or loud. Also helps that it runs really well in terms of performance.

I'm going to pick up Banished now for R54 since I like the strategic city builders and want to support the dev.

I'm grabbing anything with decent Single Player and/or co-op. Just Cause 3 is almost here, so that's probably going to be my highlight. But for todays specials, I'm going to grab H1Z1.

Metal Gear Solid V is a good option but it's R441 (inclusive of 25% discount), unless it features on daily specials, which I doubt considering it's a new game.

Got GTA 5 finally :D Considering Borderlands Prequel as well...

Remember that this time Valve aren't changing prices with different specials every day. What price you see now on any game is what it will be for the whole sale. That's why it's "Today's Highlighted Deals".

And OP, if you want a better price on MGSV you could wait for the winter sale next month where there will most likely be better deals. Everyone agrees that this sale is more of a "warm up".

MGSV had a lot of hype, it's a nice game but not a 'wow' game to me.

Are you on pc or console?

Steam & GOG has Witcher3 at a good price.
GTA V is another awesome game.

Ah yes, I forgot about that, thank you. Ok, well in that case OP isn't going to find MGSV for cheaper than R441.

THIS. Cannot go wrong with GTA V, OP, that's probably your best bet, if you don't have it already. Brilliant game.

I reckon both those games (GTAV & TW3) are must haves, will keep you busy for ages.

Banished is a solid buy. I've been trying to get some of the high population achievements recently but I'm still struggling, the environment is so sensitive if one thing goes wrong it just snowballs and everyone dies.

So maybe I'll wait 'til the Winter Sale? If it is true that the values are generally lower... MGSV looks really cool, but I'll try to temper my expectations a little bit (others have said it is a little overhyped).

I don't mind waiting to buy another game as a friend of mine just gifted me Battlefront :D

Put it this way, if anything I don’t think the game prices will go up from this sale compared to the winter sale. So if nothing else they will probably be at the same discount price.

I'm curious as to how Battlefront plays for you, as in the beta the latency to the servers in the UK caused you having to aim ahead of the other players to hit them. Curious if you have this issue.

Yep, what Phinix said. I doubt you'll be able to squeeze any more discount goodness out of the winter sale compared to this one. Pretty much as low as they're going to get. Might find a few of the A titles might be slightly more discounted next month, but I wouldn't bank on it.

I'm not entirely sure on the point of the exploration sale if we're going to see the formidable Winter sale next month.

Unrelated note: does anyone still play H1Z1? Looks like it died off.

I'm waiting for Dragon's Quest and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. To tie me over i might get Ryse, It looked like a crap 90% cutscene game but it's almost cheap enough to not care.

hmm debating whether to buy GTA Now or wait for the winter sale ;) too many decisions

I was also looking at Life is strange which is apparently amazing.

As mentioned above, there is likely to be very little difference between the prices of the sales on at the moment and the winter sale. As for the latter of the two titles, Life is Strange is a gem, worth getting and it's quite cheap at the moment.

Elite Dangerous R207. First time I have seen it on sale.

Was actually the first time I had heard of it. Looks like Eve, I'll pass :)
